These 10 rules are taken from the book "Eat to Live".
1. SALAD is the main dish!
2. Eat atleast 4 fresh fruits (I prefer mine at breakfast)
3. Use a variety of greens
4. Beware of starchy vegetables
5. Eat beans or legumes (atleast 1 cup to start with, and make sure they are sprouted!)
6. Eliminate animal and dairy products
7. Use 1 Tablespoon of flaxseed daily (make sure to grind it fresh each day)
8. Eat 1 oz of nuts and seeds (preferably in the morning or early afternoon)
9. Eat lots of mushrooms (a good source of nutrients and protein- use it as a substitution to meat)
10. Keep it simple!!!
Here is a simple sample of a meal plan:
Breakfast- fresh fruit
Lunch- salad, beans, fruit (for dessert)
Dinner- salad, 2 cooked veggies and fruit dessert
Your goal should be to eat 1 pound of fresh veggies (dark green) and 1 pound of cooked. Remember, the more dark greens you eat, the healthier you will be, and the quicker you will shed those stubborn pounds!
